Hair Systems: a Pragmatic Solution to Baldness

Androgenic alopecia is a typical affliction among young men. However common, it’s no less agonising for the individual. Androgenic alopecia (or male pattern baldness) is commonly an early sign of ageing, and can occur as soon as just 16 or 17 years old, giving rise to depression and social anxiety. While people tend to view going bald as something normal, it’s not a joke when it’s you losing your hair.

Hair loss bears upon men in different ways. Some men do not experience any type of balding pattern til very late into life. Others experience the normal pattern : a gradual losing of hair at the temples. Other male balding patterns include the crown first, or a rapid thinning out of all hair.

If every man went bald at the same rate in the same way, it might be reasoned that we wouldn’t find it so traumatic. Nevertheless, it’s the diversity of balding patterns and speed in how they happen that causes many individuals to feel very depressed and simply unlucky if they experience particularly rapid forms of baldness.

Look online and you would be forgiven for thinking there’s a plethora of simplistic remedies to baldness. Just take X pills and/or apply Y spray topically, and your hair will magically grow back. Sure, there are hair thickeners, and medications that can slow the balding process to some degree, but there’s no established cure to losing one’s hair – no magic pill that men can take to absolutely guarantee hair regrowth, or even the prevent baldness.

But there is a solution. There are hair systems, or toupees that men can wear to cover up their baldness. These hairpieces can be prepared in accordance to their colour of hair and type of baldness. Even close-up it’s often difficult to understand that there is indeed a hair system blended in. If wearing a hair system is the difference between feeling confident or feeling depressed and anxious, then it’s advisable to get one.
